Further Information:
Carpocoris mediterraneus is widespread throughout the Mediterranean region. It can feed and live on different species of plants. Specimens photographed from Dwejra, Gozo (Maltese islands) were found on Allium species in mid Summer. They are agile fliers and when captured, they defend themselves by emitting stinking chemicals, like many other species of shield bugs.
